This resource relates to CVC phonic word work. These are worksheets you can use to supplement your work on CVC words using the medial vowels a, e, i, o and u. The worksheets are in colour and black and white.
**Optional: **I have now included fillable sections. Students can fill in their names, date and then type in the answers in the highlighted sections of the worksheets.
Students look at the pictures and then choose from a set of 5 letters to spell the three-letter CVC words.
The words are: box, pad, tag, ham, van, cap, rat, bed, peg, ten, vet, wig, win, rip, six, sit, sob, rod, dog, hop, hot, cub, bud, jug, sum, run, cup, cut, web and bug.

2 Sets of Aa-Zz puzzle pieces – Cut/paste
Aa-Zz -Matching letters of the alphabet to pictures
Aa-Zz - Tracing over letters and matching to pictures
Cut and Paste to match Puzzle pieces
Place a selection of Aa – Zz puzzle sheets on tables for children to cut out and match upper and lower case letters and stick into workbook or on a separate sheet of paper.
They can trace inside the letters with different color pencils or crayons (rainbow tracing).
For the uppercase part of the puzzle ask students to write words beginning with capital letters such as their name if it begins with that letter, a city, day or month, a place of interest etc and draw pictures.
For the lowercase part of the puzzle, ask students to write and draw things beginning with that letter that does not always begin with a capital letter.

Matching letters to pictures and color activity
‘Aa is for’ to ‘Zz is for’ activity – tell children they need to color in the picture that begins with that letter and not to color in the other pictures.
Tracing over letters and matching to pictures
This alphabet activity is similar to the above except that the children trace over the dots.
Learning Objectives: To begin to learn about alphabetic order and matching upper to lower case letters. To identify initial sounds in words and match to pictures.

This product relates to alphabet uppercase and lowercase letters and pictures beginning with letters of alphabet and displays for classroom.
Aa to Zz friezes (labeled and unlabeled pictures).
Laminate and punch holes and thread through with a string to hang around the classroom or peg onto a washing line across a wall.
Aa – Zz word strips and related pictures
Laminate and cut out and place in resource center
Students trace over the initial dotted letter with dry-wipe pen
Alphabet cards
Alphabet cards to be printed off as many times as you require, laminate and cut out.
students can play alphabet snap.
Match up - Match lower case letters to upper case letters.
Other games – lay out 4 or 5 letters in alphabetical order, e.g. k, l, m, n, o, cover them over. Take a letter away without the students seeing and ask which letter is missing.
Practice writing frames using Sassoon dotted font
These are in upper and lower cases. Each one should be laminated.
After focussing on e.g. ‘t’, students can practice writing over the dots and then without the dots on the line.

Students can keep it in their own trays

Can be laminated and blu tac to the wall in the writing/reading/book corner.
Can be used to assess a student’s phonic progress - name and sound out the letters
Alphabet Pictures Games
The pictures represent the start of a letter e.g. ‘g’ for grasshopper. The pictures are not in alphabetical order so students have to look for the picture that begins with that letter.
Enlarge the A4 size sheet to A3 and the sheet with the alphabet.
Laminate the Alphabet Pictures sheet
Laminate the Alphabet sheet then cut out each letter tile for use with Alphabet Pictures.
Students can play in pairs. A timer can be set to make the game more fun.
A student asks his/her partner to find the picture beginning with ‘s’. The other student picks out one of the letters and places it over that picture on the Alphabet Picture Mat.

This is product relates to antonyms. If you are looking for extra resources to reinforce or review antonyms, then this resource covers that learning objective. The product contains 46 pairs of antonym cards which you can use to present your lessons by asking students to find the opposite of the card you are holding up. Or you could blu tac some cards onto an easel and ask students ‘What is the opposite of each card?’.
Other activities with the cards: Snap! and a memory game (select pairs of antonyms and lay them face down on the table for students to find matching antonym pairs).
Preparation: For longevity I would suggest laminating and cutting apart the cards you require for that activity.
I have included some activities you can do with the cards in the teacher notes.

This is antonyms and synonyms product which contains an editable PowerPoint presentation (60 Slides), worksheets to go with the presentation, word only flashcards (2 fonts) and editable cards in PowerPoint. There is a lesson guide to go with the presentation divided into sections for ease of reference. What is the Opposite? Cut/Paste Worksheets A to C: Students write the opposite word and then cut and glue the correct antonym picture where indicated.
Synonyms Match Up Worksheet: Students draw lines to connect the pairs of synonyms. There are two words that do not match as they are antonyms.
Synonyms Match Up Worksheets: Students connect the word that are similar and list the odd pair.

In this All About Me resource the questions are set in hexagonal tiles for students to complete. There are 3 types of activities.

Worksheet 1 - 6 tiles with questions and children draw a picture of themselves in the middle. (UK and US spelling).
Worksheet 2(Easier) (x4) - These worksheets consist of 3 questions on each page with red borders and children answer the questions inside hexagons with blue borders. The last tile always requires children to draw a picture of: themselves, a toy, what they are good at, an animal they would like to be.
Worksheet 3 - Children trace over the sentences and finish them off in their own words. Lastly, they draw a picture in each of the three hexagons.
